Biggest Loser Weeks 9-13

Well...time for a major update. It's kind of going to be a blah one. I was doing so good until I stopped posting. No idea what happened. I think I stopped keeping track of the food I was eating and then just stopped trying quite as hard. Between weeks 9 and 10 I only lost 2 ounces. I ate a lot of bad food and didn't exercise a whole lot. Week 11 I gained 9 ounces, saw that one coming. It was the same as the last two weeks of just eating too much and exercising too little. Week 12 I gained 13 ounces. OUCH! I was actually surprised about this one. I didn't exercise much, but seemed to be too busy to eat too. So just not a good few weeks. Week 13, the final week, I lost 14 ounces and weighed in at 139.8 for a loss of 3.6 pounds. So not what I was wanting, but I still am so happy I did it. It not only motivated me to keep going (started it back up yesterday), but I met some amazing people who have quickly become new, good friends. We've enjoyed lunches, play dates, and attending women's Sunday school together. So, it was well worth it!

I'll start doing weekly updates again, maybe as soon as next weekend. My scales are what I'll be going off now, which should be completely accurate since Derek set it according to his weights. Though, I will miss the exact ounce measure, I can at least know if I've gone up or down in the pound department. I hope to exercise Monday through Friday alternating between workouts - M, W, F doing the tread climber and then on T and TH doing Zumba. Also getting some walks in there before our weather really turns nasty and cold. The one or two weeks where I hard core did the tread climber, I lost 1-2 pounds per week, so I know I need to get back on that. The Zumba really helps the core conditioning and is just so much fun too!

Till next time :)

Biggest Loser Week 8

Today I weighed in at 139.2 pounds! I lost 4 ounces this week and a total of 4.2 pounds! I'm also only 4 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight so am excited about that too, it's the last few that always seem to take the longest to lose. This week I was so-so on eating. It was too hot to really want to cook anything and I was too lazy to do the same, so we ate out a few times and just grabbed what we had. I had several small bowls of home made granola for breakfasts or would just grab a granola bar. I also wasn't very good with my water intake and probably averaged only 30 ounces a day, half of what I've been drinking. It was a really busy week though. However, my exercise was very good this week and paid off when I went off the small portions wagon and jumped on the pizza, cheesy bread, and lava cake wagon last night haha! On Monday, I went walking with a new friend of mine, who's baby is only 19 days older than Lexi! (There are now 4 baby girls all born in May in our weekly playgroup). This week I walked a total of 7.75 miles!

My size 9 pants are way too big now and I have to wear a belt if I don't want them falling off. I can't quite fit into my 7's, but am really hoping to in another few weeks.

I'm hoping to really step it up in the remaining 5 weeks and lose at least as much as I already have.

Oh to look like this :)

Biggest Loser Week 6 and 7

I wasn't here last Saturday, so didn't weigh in, and tomorrow I, again, won't be around so weighed in yesterday. I weighed in at: 139.6 pounds! For a loss of 10 ounces! This puts the grand total to 3.14 pounds lost! I didn't lose as many as I had hoped to the last two weeks, but between Red Lobster and Buca di Beppo's I'm not sad about it either. I've been working out 30 minutes at least 4 times a week. I've tried for all 7, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. Right now, I'm burning 220 calories each time and starting Monday, I'll be upping the workout again. On the days I haven't worked the tread climber, Derek and I have gone for half mile walks. My eating is so-so. It's not great, but not horrible either. My water intake has been fairly good and I usually average 40-60 ounces a day. We're now at the halfway point, so I'm excited to see how much more I'll lose before heading off to Maine for a week :)

During my tread climber workouts I burned 1095 calories in two weeks and I walked without the tread climber 5.5 miles.

Our Anniversary

I must say, Derek is good at surprises. He told me I would have to get up with his alarm Saturday morning and wear something nice for our anniversary. So, we're up around 7 and I was ready by 7:45. At 8:00, Diana showed up to babysit and at 8:40 we were heading out. I was going crazy trying to figure out what we were doing, so Derek finally let me open my anniversary cards. The first one had a coupon for Buca di Beppo's and the second, a picture of Red Lobster!!! We were heading to SLC, first out-of-town/state, all day trip without Lexi.

We got there around 11 and went to Sugar House Park, a favorite of ours, and walked around for about an hour. Then we headed to Red Lobster and had the crab linguine alfredo. YUM!

After that, we went window shopping at Pet Smart. We saw the cutest split-faced calico kittens! Derek told me we couldn't bring one home haha. Well, that's good because I think we'd regret 3 cats, 2 is plenty. It was so much fun walking around there though. We saw some cute birds and Guinea pigs (decided we'll probably get Lexi one when she's a bit older) and admired someone's Doberman puppy. Then we headed to Best Buy. Looked at the new Mac computers, Derek thinks I'd like one better than a PC, so we had fun playing around on it. Then we looked at cameras and all the other fun stuff Best Buy has to offer.

We got out to the Jeep and Derek said his main thing planned was to look at new cars (not to buy, just to get a feel of what we really wanted in a few months), but he didn't want me to get irritated with the salesmen. I told him I'd love to go look, so off we went to find a Hyundai dealer. Of course, it took about half a second before the salesman came our way. He first introduced himself and then said "I saw what you drove in with, let's see what you're driving out with". We originally wanted to get the Veracruz, but after looking at them, decided that 3 rows in a vehicle the size of the Jeep just isn't practical. It was so crammed and the back of the vehicle had horrible blind spots, something we were trying to avoid this time. So, we test drove the Santa Fe instead and really liked it! It had everything we wanted. But, since we had already decided to wait a while, we told him we were going to dinner to talk it over. He took our cell numbers and gave us his, then took the VIN number off the Jeep so he could crunch some numbers. And off we went.

We went to another little park to walk around and then headed to Buca's! There we had the fresh garlic bread (it actually has garlic chunks on it) and the cheese zitti and I had a purple pear cream soda (mmmm). When we were done eating, Derek called the salesman back and thanked him for all his help and time, but we had decided to wait until we could have a sizable down payment. Well, he told Derek this was during the time they had a $5000 rebate going on AND, he could give us $3200 for the Jeep today! That's only $800 less than the very most we thought we could get for it, in great condition. The Jeep that day was in fair: it had a starting problem, a dent in the front bumper, a leak in the front tire, rust spots, the driver side door was peeling, AND it had 122k miles on it. So he asked Derek what we were comfortable paying a month. Derek gave him a number and he said he would call us back in 5 minutes. Derek and I decided if he couldn't get it under x amount, we would just walk away and come back down next Spring. We really didn't think he could do it for us. He called back and the number was $3 under what we decided!!! And back to the dealership we went. We both really liked the Pacific Blue Pearl color, but all they had on their lot was silver, dark gray and black. We thought the gray or black would be okay, but upon seeing them, decided we wanted the blue one. And the only blue one on their lot was a 4 cylinder, we didn't want that one. They said they could have the blue one this week, but it was still at the rail yard. It also happens to be the only one in that color that has what we want in the entire district and is unique to 3 states! A few hours later, we had made the deal, complete with getting a clear bra coating on the front (this prevents rocks from chipping the pretty paint) and a 10-year/100k mile warranty on everything, not just the power-train warranty!! So this Saturday, we're going to pick it up. It has beige interior leather, navigation system, back-up camera, sun roof, 6 disc CD changer, all the iPod hookups, blue tooth that we can control from the steering wheel and it's voice activated and it only has 25 miles on it! Nobody has ever driven our new vehicle! Needless to say, I'm having a hard time waiting for Saturday. We were so impressed with the dealership too. They never once asked what we did for a living until we told them we were from Rock Springs and he asked what there was for work up there. Never asked what we made a year. He just gave us the keys and told us to take it for a spin, but he didn't demand to go with us. When he found out it was our anniversary, he got so excited to be able to help us celebrate with the new car, and he gave us a new Tuscon to drive home in because he didn't want us to drive the Jeep back. I mean, talk about amazing service! So that was my anniversary! And Lexi and Diana had a great day and she was an angel Diana said :)

6th Anniversary

6 years ago today, I married my best friend in the whole world! It went so fast! Our first year may have been tough and trying, but we rose above it and have accomplished so many things that we are proud of: good jobs, a house, and now our little girl. It's been the best 6 years of my life, well 7 really since that's how long we've been together. Here's to the next 50!

Biggest Loser Week 5

Success! Today I weighed in at 140.0 pounds! Which means I lost 2.6 pounds this week and 3.4 pounds total! That puts me 10.12 pounds from my goal (and 7 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight!). This week I was able to get in a few 30 minute workouts that burned quite a few calories. I also did some walking, all of which I know helped this week. I was super good at the beginning of the week...only had a total of 5 spoonfuls of Phish Food, and only drank water. Then Wednesday hit, which equaled the start of fair with friends. Wednesday night I indulged probably a little too much on sushi. What can I say, I'm hooked now! Then at the fair I had half a funnel cake. I would have eaten the whole thing except I was full. And then Derek made pizza last night. But, I only ate one piece. I'm very excited to have lost more than one pound this week, especially since my goal was only 8 oz!

Band aids!

Poor little Lexi had to endure her first shots at the end of last week and beginning of this week. She only had a slight reaction to them which luckily only lasted a few hours each time and most of that time she was able to sleep. Baby tylenol is awesome though! At least she got cute band aids!
