Happy Valentine's Day to everyone out there! Hard to believe this is Derek and my 6th one together and even harder to believe it's our last one just the two of us. Next year, we'll have a little girl to dress up in red and pink flowered dresses :)

Our First Piece of Furniture!
So, I'm just so excited about this that I can't wait to share it...hopefully my mom doesn't mind :P We will be receiving our first furniture item in a few weeks! My parents are getting little baby the stroller and carrier system =D We looked and looked for one we liked, hoping to add it to one of our registries. Sadly, the only ones I found that were 'neutral-ish' that I liked were blue and brown and Derek said no way to the blue stuff for a girl. And yellow and pea green together make for ugly anything! So, I finally found one (not at either of our registered stores) and Derek loved it. So did my parents :P Thanks mom and dad/ grandma and grandpa!
Isn't it nice? I can't wait to use them both!!

Little Feet
I officially felt the baby kick on Saturday the 22nd! I know now that I was feeling her before, but I just wasn't positive. On Saturday morning, she kicked my hand twice when it was on my stomach and really hasn't stopped since, well other than when we went back for our second ultrasound session and she decided she didn't want to move around and hid her face again :) She likes to use my bladder as a trampoline. I always thought the analogy of kicks feeling like gas bubbles was stupid. Who has gas in their stomach? Well, yes, that is what it feels like. It feels like she's blowing bubbles in there and then popping them with her fingers and toes.
She LOVES her feet! I think she'll be a toe sucker instead of a thumb sucker haha. During our last ultrasound, she kept playing with them, grabbing them with her fingers, kicking herself in the head, bringing them over her face along with her hands telling us to leave her alone. She's going to be just like her dad and uncles and not like her picture taken I'm thinking. The below picture is one of my favorites! Her legs, feet, hands, and arms are all over her head. I think we've got a gymnast in the making!
She's already a little ham!
She also opened and closed her eyes briefly. The ultrasound technician said they aren't supposed to do that until 24 weeks, so either she's farther along than everyone thinks, or she's going to be an advanced baby and do everything early :) Both would be fine with me! She also opened and closed her mouth a few times...hmmm...a hungry baby perhaps? Though, it looked like she was yawning. I think we were boring her.
We got our dvd this time too! It's so neat to actually get to watch her move around. Still hard to make out what some things are, but neat none-the-less. I'm hoping to upload it here, but that's going to be harder than it sounds and Derek's going to have to be the mastermind behind helping me accomplish that as the dvd needs 'special work' done before I can even copy it to my computer.

We're seeing P-I-N-K !!
And the news is official, we're having a little GIRL!!!! We couldn't be more excited! First girl on Derek's side of the family, so he's thrilled. We'll be seeing lots of pinks and browns and more pinks in the very near future. But, as my Grandma Hargis said, 'she needs a little tomboy in her'. Yes, we agree. After all, she already has her first pair of overalls thanks to my mom :)
We were very impressed with Sneak-a-Peak Fetal Imaging in Green River. She not only let us come in on a Sunday, but she gave us about twice as much in our session as we paid for. We received 16 photos, 3 being 3D, 19 minutes of video along with a recording or the heartbeat, and since the baby decided she didn't like her picture taken and stayed in the very back of my stomach, we get a free session on January 25! I didn't mind that we couldn't get a good head or profile picture, but the technician felt really bad so we'll get another session of video taken at the next appointment. It was very special! The cord was between her legs, yet again, but the lady assured us she'd find out what the baby was. It just took a little more pushing on my stomach and the baby moved her legs enough to see she is most definitely a little girl!
The lady also said that since she's so far back, that's probably why I've experienced so much back pain and why I haven't felt her kick yet. She kept covering her little face with her hands and bringing her feet up to her face and holding them, it was so cute. She just wanted to sleep, guess she was worn out from being so active on Thursday.
Below is a picture of her little arms and legs. Her fist, fingers, and toes are so cute!
Her feet
Oh yes, it's a girl!
Her heart (the large hole looking object above the two black holes).
Very exciting stuff!
And this is the bedding and decore we're going to get.
We can't wait!

20 Weeks, Halfway Point
Well, I'm officially at the halfway point according to all things pregnancy counting-wise. However, I'm fully expecting to go late...so who knows, halfway might not be for another week or it could have been last week, who knows, lol. We had the 20 week appointment on January 13. We were so excited...I could hardly sleep the entire week and it felt like Christmas Eve. We wanted to know if we were going to have a pink or a blue theme. Well, little baby decided to play peek-a-boo with the umbilical cord and it was right in the wrong place...between the legs. The doctor said it looked 'girl-ish', but she wasn't giving us an answer based on 'ish'. I was so bummed and almost started to cry (but not until we left since the ultrasound was really neat). The baby looks like a baby now! See! Sorry, the picture is a bit washed out.
There is the full-body profile. The last time, it was so microscopic and didn't quite look like a person. We got to see the four chambers of the heart and the little heartbeat, so amazing! The doctor said "You're in trouble, you have a very active child!" Instead of thinking "Uh oh", I was just thrilled :) She said everything looks absolutely perfect!! I called my mom on the way home to tell her we still didn't know if they were having a granddaughter or son, and the whole family was at my grandma's home: my mom, dad, grandpa, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Paul, Aunt Debbie-Anne...the whole group. My grandma wasn't available right then, but I got to talk with her a few minutes later. Everyone let out a big "OOOOOH" when I told them we couldn't tell what the baby was. My Uncle Paul said he had name ideas for us: Tron for a girl, Laramie or Rocky for a boy. I couldn't stop laughing, it's so my uncle :) (His daughter, my cousin Katie, wanted to name her brother Noah, Simba many years ago).
Now, we are hoping to get an appointment with a fetal imaging company in Green River. We always made fun of it before...Sneak-a-Peak...maybe because the first time we saw it, we didn't think it said Fetal...? I don't know. But many of my friends have gone there and say it's really neat and my brother-in-law's girlfriend knows the owner, she's supposed to call me today. So hopefully we'll know what we are really having very soon. I want to start shopping for bedding and curtains and all that fun stuff =D
Below is a picture of the face. I always thought it was mean of people to say their babies looked like aliens, but, well, they kind of do at this angle.

Happy New Year
Well since I really won't have an exciting pregnancy post until January 13, I thought maybe I should just do one for the new year. Hope everyone had a fun New Year's Eve. We just stayed home and really didn't do anything. It's really really cold here, so just trying to stay warm and enjoy Derek's last few days off before going back to work.
2010 was a pretty good year. It did have its ups and downs and heartbreaks, including it ending in what could have been a very sad situation in the family, but everything is really good now. I was able to quit my job after talking about doing so for the past 4 years. Very glad I was able to have such good jobs right out of school though, not many people get that opportunity. We are so looking forward to our baby coming in May and very happy to be able to say we're having a baby this year!
Happy New Year everyone!

16 Week Photo
I have a noticeable bump now! Of course, this isn't a maternity shirt and if I wear a swear shirt or a coat it's not as noticeable, but it's still fun.
